We have finished a couple of new site features that improve the ease of use, and also adds ways to display more information in a variety of places.

First we have just implemented a new bar graph system that allows you to get a quick ‘at a glance’ summary of all the numbers of ratings given on each item per level. So you can quickly see how many people thought the item was ‘terrible’, ‘average’, or ’superb’.

We have also implemented a couple of things throughout the site to make it easier to use, I wont list them all but a few new good ones, are the messaging pop-up notifications you will see while browsing so no matter which page you are on you will instantly be notified of new incoming RatingHQ messages. We have also implemented an alert box, that notifies you as well of new messages, comments, flagged comments, new network requests and more.

We received a very interesting new review yesterday from a disgruntled member who is apparently not convinced with his voice over IP service (VOIP) and left us a nice review. These are the kind that seem to be the most interesting to read, now why is that? Well, we dont mind them we love them!

Stay tuned for more upcoming RSS feed possibilities, we are adding more feed connectors throughout the site, such as for all “Recent Reviews”, Products Area Recent Reviews, Business Area Recent Reviews, Everything Else Area Recent Reviews.

Currently we already support profile reviews feed from users to display there recent reviews throughout the world wide web. If you have a favorite reviewer, you can easily add their RSS feed to your Outlook, Google Home Page, BlackBerry or iPhone, so you can read all of their recent reviews the second they arrive.

We are hence the title “debating” what to do with website reviews, they could almost be deemed as a entirely seperate area, but hey we didn’t build the site for that. Right now we are researching the best possible Web Site Reviews categories. Expect to see an update with the new categories soon.

We now have Movie Ratings categories on RatingHQ.com thanks to the requests we’ve received. It seems to be a great conversational topic, we wouldn’t want to pass up the movie buff market out there. We know there are a bunch of them.

A couple of sub categories or genres we have included are:

We have added a new category selector tool within the item create pages, it’s now MUCH easier to select a category while you create an item from within any area. Now 1st of all you can also browse through the site, and click the BLUE buttons you see throughout the categories to “CREATE ITEM” and it will load the ITEM create page with the correct category selected, you will also have the ability to edit the category or choose up to 3 categories while creating your item.

With this new feature we have a 3 TAB system, that allows you to Browse Categories, Search Categories, or choose from your Recently Used categories. Each of the tabs are different in there own way.

The Browse tab allows you to quicly navigate through the different categories provided that you are in one of the correct 3 area’s of the site. You can easily drill down to the most appropriate category available, it’s very clear and easy to navigate, although if any one has any suggestions do let us know.

The Search categories is unique and MOST sites out there do not have a designated category search tool, well we do . You can type just about anything generic into the field and it will return all results with that field, while it’s only displaying exact words from your search we will soon improve this feature to return related or similar results to broaden your choices.

The Recently Used tab is neat because it allows you to select categories easier than having to find them over and over each time for those of you who are creating multiple different items within the same categories. So for example if some of you publishers out there are staying within a few NICHE categories like MP3 Players, or MOVIES, then you can easily find the category again without having to dig for it. It’s a convenient tool we have added for our members to enjoy the site more! Easier is better!

Well with what time we have left in the year to decide who we are going to elect, it’s obviously a tough decision, and to some are better off not voting at all. What ever happend to “Your Vote Counts” campaigns? It seems most I talk to haven’t a clue who to vote for, not sure if that is an early warning sign for a political disaster or what.

It seems you can now Compare Presidential Candidates on the RHQ web site. If you have an opinion, you probably better voice it now before it’s too late and the votes are in.
